A good friend of mine claims to be a meatarian and took Lynne and me to Sloppy Hoggs for my birthday. We started off with the Pulled Pork Poutine as an appetizer. Home made fries, marvellous gravy and cheese covered in succulent pulled pork. When the appetizer was done, we knew we were in trouble. Even with 3 of us sharing this delicious plate it went beyond appetizing and started to fill us all.
The next course was my choice of the Sloppy Hoggs version of a burger. A home made bun stuffed with various meats and burger fixings and sides of spicy beans and fries. This is truly an experience and definitely a burger out of the box. The ample quantity of meat, the home made fries and beans was meat lovers nirvana. I barely managed to do the burger justice, washing it down with an organic beer that they had on tap. Not a meal for the faint of heart or small of stomach. It is however one I would go back for again but with the knowledge that I don’t need the appetizer. My friend and Lynne, both tried different fare and took home a good portion of their meals in doggie bags. Not only do you get a decent value for your dollar, it can feed you for a couple of days.
Great service, friendly helpful staff and an absolutely marvellous meal at Sloppy Hoggs Roed Hus. This is a special place for those of you who love your beef and pork.
